Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are at the heart of Bright Network's mission. We strive to make our events as accessible and inclusive as possible, whether they are online or in person.
We understand that you may feel apprehensive about taking part in Internship Experience UK (IEUK) and we want to ensure that you feel as supported and comfortable as possible throughout the experience.
Below are some of the support and accessibility initiatives available during IEUK:
Accessibility measures:
- A dedicated support page explaining the accessibility features available on the platform and how to use them
- Live closed captioning available on the virtual event platform
- A Helpdesk open throughout the event, where attendees can speak to a member of the Bright Network team and receive support
Inclusivity initiatives:
- Mental Health First Aiders available via the Helpdesk on the virtual events platform
- The option to add pronouns to your profile on the virtual events platform
- Audio descriptions of event speakers
Throughout the experience we ask participants to be as interactive as they feel comfortable being. While attendees may be invited to turn on their cameras or come off mute to ask questions, we completely understand if you would prefer not to do so. You are welcome to attend with your camera off and use the chat or Q&A functions to participate instead.
As mentioned above, Mental Health First Aiders will be available throughout the programme if you need any additional support during the experience.
